Rep Your Voice provides a platform for the representation of youth voice and promotes healthy expressions of life and community. Rep Your Voice is an initiative of the Nashville Prevention Partnership, which prevents substance abuse by connecting and uniting individuals, organizations and institutions.

Rep Your Voice TV (RYV TV) production was launched in early 2013, as an extension to the Rep Your Voice initiative.  Through local television programming, NPP hopes to connect with youth on a larger scale and encourage the viewers to maintain a healthy, alcohol and drug-free lifestyle.

Production on Rep Your Voice TV is in full swing.  We have auditioned and selected a “RYV Street Team,” consisting of local high school students, as the show’s hosts and correspondents.  Through a tedious brainstorming and planning process, the Street Team creates informative news stories and conducts interviews with local professionals and youth. Our Street Team embodies the mission of Nashville Prevention Partnership and fights to prevent substance abuse among their peers.

Each episode focuses on a specific topic related to substance abuse (prescription drugs, OTC abuse, underage drinking, DUIs, illicit drugs, etc.) and youth issues (bullying, suicide, violence, etc.).  The shows are made up of four segments: 2 “News” stories, a “Youth Shout-Out” segment (highlighting youth and youth organizations) and a “Professional Spotlight” segment, with a focus on Nashville natives.  Each episode also features a variety of “Take Away” questions throughout the segments to encourage group discussion.
